Jawahar Navodaya

The Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST) is a national-level entrance exam for admission into Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas, which are affiliated with the CBSE. The exam is administered by the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) for admission into Class 6, Class 9 (through lateral entry), and Class 11.

There are 661 sanctioned Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) in India, with 653 currently functional, as of December 2024. These are co-educational, fully residential schools for talented children, with a presence in almost every district of the country. The only exception to the nationwide presence is the state of Tamil Nadu.
